“Precious Love was birthed through grief. My grandmother, Avonne Thorne, raised me and my siblings. She was all things strong. The most beautiful, resilient woman. In 2015 she passed away from Alzheimer’s disease. Although, I watched her go through “memory loss” nothing could have prepared me for the doctors to say that Alzheimer’s alone had caused her death. I made a vow to her to bring awareness to the disease and most of all advocate for a cure. In 2016, I founded my nonprofit organization, “Precious Love” to do just that. Precious Love is simply a name she called her grandchildren or any child for that matter.”
